Crow Above Rainy Cobblestones - Paint by Numbers Kit

One small black crow sits on a wire at the upper left, and the whole wet street seems to hang beneath it. Below the bird, a curving lane of rain-slicked cobblestones turns gray-violet and holds a single wide streak of pale light. Maroon brick row-houses and slate-gray facades line the right side. A cast-iron lamppost and an old garden wall stand on the left, and a church spire fades into the mist at the end of the road.

The palette is cool and quiet: dove grays, dusky blues and soft violets, warmed by brick reds and a few golden breaks in the clouds. It is an overcast morning just after rain. The large reflection shapes on the cobbles suit patient painters, because the colors blend gradually across each area. Beginners can take it slowly, and hobbyists will enjoy getting the shimmer on the wet stones right.

It makes a good gift for anyone who loves moody city light, crow lovers, or fans of old brick streets in the rain. Set up a quiet corner, put the kettle on, and paint your way down the lane.
