Canaima Lagoon Sunset - Paint by Numbers Kit

Coppery water, a rose-sand shoreline and three thin white waterfalls falling from a dark jungle ridge: this is Laguna de Canaima in Venezuela at the moment the sun sinks behind the cliffs. The scene is built from large, readable shapes, so you can focus on the way the colors melt into one another.

The lagoon fills the lower half of the canvas. Its surface runs from burnt orange near the glowing sun to dusty mauve and soft violet where the falls are reflected. On the right, a pink-tinged beach curves along the water's edge with a thin line of foam and a trail of footprints. Palms and deep green jungle frame the shore. Above the treeline the sky turns a muted coral, with apricot clouds drifting over the sandstone cliffs.

A pre-printed numbered canvas makes the gradual shifts in the water and sky easy to follow, which suits beginners as well as hobbyists who like a long, calm session. It also makes a good gift for anyone who loves national parks or dreams of Venezuela's tepui country. Pick up your brush and paint the last light over Canaima.
