Blue Turaco Over Bwindi - Paint by Numbers Kit

A crested turquoise turaco sits on a thick brown branch, red-ringed eye fixed on a rainforest that rolls away below it in flat, overlapping scallops of green. This retro travel-poster scene is set in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and the bird is the star of it. Behind the canopy, a pale blue lake and layered mountains sit under a huge golden sun.

The palette is confident and limited: teal sky and plumage, deep forest greens fading to lime at the treetops, and warm sunflower yellow in the sun and the bold block letters spelling UGANDA across the bottom. Large areas of flat color make it a friendly choice for beginners, while the feather crest, the curled talons and the crisp lettering edges give more experienced painters something to focus on. The pre-printed numbered canvas keeps the sharp poster outlines easy to follow.

It suits nature lovers, bird watchers, and anyone who has trekked, or dreams of trekking, through Uganda's misty highland forests. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a traveler. Pick up your brush and paint the turaco's blue crest first.
